Un anno fa c’era un romanzo. Oggi c’è una rete.
Un anno fa L’Alchimista di Sacile doveva ancora essere presentato.
C’erano una storia, alcuni personaggi e luoghi destinati a vivere tra le pagine di un romanzo. C’erano idee da sviluppare, contatti da costruire e molte porte alle quali bussare.
Oggi il quadro è completamente diverso.
Quella storia ha iniziato a uscire dalle pagine e a collegare territori, istituzioni, musei, associazioni e persone.
Da Sacile a Venezia, da Asolo a Tambre, da Polcenigo a Porcia e Arta Terme, fino all’Associazione Veneti nel Mondo.
Luoghi diversi, amministrazioni diverse, identità locali fortissime. Eppure esiste un filo che li unisce: una storia comune e la possibilità di raccontare oggi l’eredità della Serenissima attraverso strumenti nuovi.
È da questo percorso che sta prendendo forma il Progetto Serenissima.
Quando un libro diventa una mappa
L’obiettivo non è semplicemente promuovere un romanzo.
L’idea è più ampia: utilizzare la narrativa come porta d’ingresso verso il territorio.
Un lettore incontra un luogo dentro una storia. Lo immagina. Lo associa a un personaggio, a una vicenda, a un momento particolare.
Poi può nascere qualcosa di molto concreto: il desiderio di vederlo realmente.
Visitare il borgo. Entrare nel palazzo. Scoprire il museo. Percorrere una strada descritta nel romanzo. Guardare un paesaggio sapendo che, almeno nella finzione narrativa, proprio lì è accaduto qualcosa.
A quel punto il libro smette di essere soltanto carta.
Diventa una mappa.
Ed è qui che letteratura, storia, patrimonio culturale, turismo e produzione audiovisiva possono iniziare a parlare la stessa lingua.
Dietro gli stemmi ci sono le persone
L’immagine che accompagna questo articolo mostra una parte importante del cammino compiuto: istituzioni, territori e associazioni che, in forme diverse, hanno deciso di accompagnare questo percorso.
Ma gli stemmi raccontano soltanto metà della storia.
L’altra metà è fatta dalle persone.
Oggi questo progetto non è più il lavoro di una persona sola.
Accanto a me ci sono Eriberta Ros, coautrice e compagna di viaggio nello sviluppo narrativo; Pamela Petris, impegnata nelle relazioni, nei contatti e nella ricerca di nuove opportunità; Marcello Grimaldi, prezioso punto di riferimento nel dialogo con il territorio e con il mondo istituzionale.
Esperienze differenti, competenze differenti e una direzione comune: fare in modo che questa storia non rimanga chiusa dentro un libro.
Dal patrimonio del passato a un progetto per il futuro
Il Progetto Serenissima nasce dalla storia, ma non vuole vivere di nostalgia.
Al contrario.
L’obiettivo è utilizzare il patrimonio storico per costruire qualcosa di contemporaneo: itinerari narrativi, produzioni audiovisive, collaborazioni con musei ed enti locali, strumenti digitali, percorsi turistico-culturali e nuove modalità per far conoscere luoghi che spesso si trovano fuori dalle grandi rotte del turismo.
Il principio è semplice.
Prima la storia crea un legame emotivo. Poi il territorio diventa un’esperienza.
Un borgo non è più soltanto un nome sulla cartina.
Un palazzo non è più soltanto un edificio.
Un museo non è più soltanto una collezione di oggetti.
Quando entrano dentro una narrazione acquisiscono memoria, personaggi e significato.
Un anno dopo
Guardando oggi questa immagine è difficile pensare che appena un anno fa L’Alchimista di Sacile dovesse ancora essere presentato.
In dodici mesi una storia ha iniziato a generare relazioni, collaborazioni, patrocini e nuove idee.
Non significa essere arrivati.
Significa esattamente il contrario.
Un anno fa c’era un romanzo che aspettava di incontrare i suoi lettori.
Oggi c’è una rete.
Domani l’ambizione è trasformarla in un vero percorso culturale capace di attraversare territori, regioni e, perché no, anche confini nazionali.
Una sola storia. Un solo territorio. Un’unica identità.
E probabilmente siamo ancora all’inizio.
One year ago there was a novel. Today there is a network.
One year ago, L’Alchimista di Sacile had not even been officially presented yet.
There was a story, a group of characters and a collection of real places waiting to come alive on the pages of a novel. There were ideas to develop, relationships to build and many doors still waiting to be opened.
Today, the picture is completely different.
That story has moved beyond the pages of a book and has begun connecting territories, institutions, museums, associations and people.
From Sacile to Venice, from Asolo to Tambre, from Polcenigo to Porcia and Arta Terme, all the way to the Veneti nel Mondo Association.
Different places. Different local administrations. Strong individual identities.
Yet they share a common thread: a historical heritage connected to the Serenissima and the opportunity to tell that story today through entirely new tools.
This is the path from which Progetto Serenissima is taking shape.
When a book becomes a map
The goal is not simply to promote a novel.
The idea is much broader: to use storytelling as a gateway to real places.
A reader first discovers a location through a story. They imagine it. They associate it with a character, an event or a particular moment.
Then something very real can happen.
They may want to see that place for themselves.
To visit the village. Enter the palace. Discover the museum. Walk along a street described in the novel. Stand before a landscape knowing that, at least within the fictional world of the story, something happened there.
At that point, a book is no longer simply paper.
It becomes a map.
And this is where literature, history, cultural heritage, tourism and audiovisual production can begin to speak the same language.
Behind the emblems are people
The image accompanying this article shows an important part of the journey so far: institutions, territories and associations that, in different ways, have chosen to become part of this project.
But institutional emblems tell only half the story.
The other half is made of people.
Today, this project is no longer the work of one person alone.
Alongside me are Eriberta Ros, co-author and partner in the narrative development of the project; Pamela Petris, working on relationships, contacts and new opportunities; and Marcello Grimaldi, an invaluable point of reference in the dialogue with local communities and institutions.
Different backgrounds. Different skills. One shared direction: ensuring that this story does not remain confined within the pages of a book.
Turning the heritage of the past into a project for the future
Progetto Serenissima begins with history, but it is not built on nostalgia.
Quite the opposite.
Its purpose is to use historical heritage to create something contemporary: narrative itineraries, audiovisual productions, collaborations with museums and local authorities, digital tools, cultural tourism routes and new ways of introducing people to places that often remain outside the major tourist circuits.
The principle is simple.
First, storytelling creates an emotional connection. Then the territory becomes an experience.
A village is no longer simply a name on a map.
A palace is no longer merely a building.
A museum is no longer just a collection of objects.
Once these places enter a story, they acquire memory, characters and meaning.
One year later
Looking at this image today, it is difficult to believe that only one year ago L’Alchimista di Sacile had yet to be officially presented.
In twelve months, a story has begun generating relationships, collaborations, institutional support and new ideas.
That does not mean we have arrived.
It means exactly the opposite.
One year ago there was a novel waiting to meet its readers.
Today there is a network.
Tomorrow, the ambition is to transform that network into a genuine cultural journey capable of crossing territories, regions and, perhaps, national borders.
One story. One territory. One shared identity.
And we are probably only at the beginning.
